Original Message:   Conglomerate S.E. pendant
Conglomerates are not often used for beadmaking because the clasts , the pebble inclusions, in the conglomerate matrix are often far out of scale for beads and the color and contrast of the stone is usually not arresting. I have two examples from the US that are exceptions to the last problems. They do not work tremendously well as bead material but the essentially two dimensional realm of pendants is where they shine. This conglomerate is from the wilds of rural Mississippi and consists of clasts of limestone and quartz from Wisconsin and the Ohio river valley. The matrix is a mixture of hematite and ilmenite.
