Carnelian is a material that is quite variable. It can be very pale (even including white and yellow), pink, pale orange, orange, red-orange, orange-red, red, and brown—whereupon it becomes sard. And it can appear quite translucent or rather opaque. Carnelian is not an unreasonable guess. I would be inclined to guess the blue bead may be dyed. There are just too few translucent blue materials in tones of teal (as I define teal—being greenish-blue or bluish-green). I wonder, based on the texture I can see, if this bead may be dyed bone (?).
