They do actually look like glass to me. The way the darker lines are positioned is consistent with would glass. Many glass typed are not completely one color, or they have a variation in how transparent they are. If they are wound glass, I would think they are most likely Czech or Chinese. The picture shows a variety of wound beads, made in different ways. See the pink one? It is Czech and is quite similar to yours.
