Hello PG, Your beads may be Venetian, but could come from India as well. One might have to see them IRL (in real life) to make a distinction. When glass is trailed, glass in the form of stings ("trials") of the same or another color is applied and fused to the base. This is "decoration"—to be sure. However, let's not confuse the term with that of a different context—the context of agate beadmaking, where "decoration" is short for "chemical decoration" and refers to the process of applying a solution that is fused into the bead (or object) and becomes a permanent part of that stone, creating a (usually) white line.
