Original Message:   brass inlay bead identification
Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could provide me additional information about these brass inlaid turquoise/shell beads (please see picture). We've had these since the late 1960s and have been told they are likely of Indian/Nepalese/Tibetan origin. The larger turquoise bead measures 11mm wide and 9.5mm center depth. The shape is a convex bicone except the hole is from side to side, not up and down.

If anyone can give me some more details about these beads, it would be very appreciated. And, if anyone has any suggestions on where I might find more of these beads that are in better shape, that would be awesome! Thanks!
