Original Message: Many Stones are Colour-Enhanced - |

- and have been for hundreds of years. It's interesting to read of the many different ways 'rock artists' have learned to change or improve or enhance or deepen the colour of various stones. I used to be rather puritanical about stones that are coloured in a garish fashion, but some dyed jadeites on Asian markets today are fun to string in really long double-strand necklaces of cool pink and fuschia and purple - colours that don't occur naturally. It's a way of dressing-up dull stones. But natural colours are classier, of course. All rights reserved by Bead Collector Network and its users |
