Here are the two beads, side by side. The dust wiped off the reamer corresponding to the two beads is above each bead. For those not sure what polystyrene smells like, just run your reamer along the edge of a CD case or any #6 piece of plastic and you will find the distinct smell. Note: Polyester reportedly also smells just like polystyrene but I have not explored that issue yet. And, I've read that there are a lot of beads being made from polyester. But polystyrene is a much cheaper material so I'm guessing most beads are PS. If I find out more I'l report back. Main lesson learned - it's very difficult to ID a bead from a picture.
