Original Message:   Here's a strange one
This bead (23 mm long x 10 diameter) is one I haven't seen before. It is sparsely decorated with tiny pieces of tiny striped cane - which reminds me of the "candy cane" decorations on Venetian beads.

The hole is tapered, from about 2 mm on one end, to about 4.5 mm on the other end.

Found on a strand of mixed trade beads that included Venetian, Czech, Indian, powder glass, a broken Pumtek, and misc. new glass and stone beads.

Any ideas?
