Original Message:   Curious why these semi-precious gemstone beads are so hard to find??

I inquired a few years ago here about Ethiopian fluorite beads (NOT Ethiopian opal) being so scarce. I figured that at some point, they would get more popular, or easier to find. But I've been looking again, and they are still impossible to find. I've posted the two pics I have, including one strand I bought. But I would love any information on why they are scarce. Maybe they are actually something else, and so my searches go nowhere....?? Thanks for any insight or suggestions.
