Original Message:   Perusing the beads…
Beads one through eight are Chinese. Number nine is probably American.

1. Early 20th c. seed carved as a sampan. Ivory windows open & shut. 2. Early 20th c. seed carving depicting flowering branches and leaves. 3. Mid to late 20th century seed carving. One of eighteen immortals? 4. Classic 19th century seed carving portraying men under a tree. 5. Same as number four. Both from a Mandarin Court Necklace. 6. From a prayer bracelet, maybe 19th c. seed carved as a scull. 7. Late 20th century ivory carved as a pig? Calling to mind an ojime. 8. Late 20th century ivory bead carved as a rooster -zodiac animal. 9. New metal pretending to be an ojime depicting a spider on a leaf.

Stefany may be able to identify the type of seeds actually used -and may disagree concerning age. I'ld like to hear from her.
