I occasionally wear this necklace, made with a black stone Bactrian (?) maze head, strung on an old silver chain from the Moroccan Atlas.
Once I was about to attend a Christmas Eve dinner at a very exclusive club, where wearing a tie is sine qua non condition, as the doorman politely informed me. Then, looking down he added, with a smail of complicity: "Except when someone wears a necklace such as yours..."
