This is a tengu no tamago - portraying a bird-like form with claws hatching from an egg. I can't figure out what the peg was for, unless something was broken off and lost. The piece has no holes. Appears to be bronze, about 5.5+/- cm at the widest, and about 4.0+/- cm in height. The peg does not have a hole and is about 14mm long and 4mm in diameter. Any thoughts/comments appreciated.
