Original Message:   Cloisonne Crane Bead I Spent Far Too Much On
Well, OK, another bidder was right behind me, so apparently there's two of us with a screw loose.

The rich colors reminded me of Fred's Chinese zodiac bead.

The crane motif and lozenge shape are pretty unusual, and seems to follow the standard iconography of a crane, rising sun, ocean, shoreline. Missing the pine trees.

The slot-shaped openings makes me think this seems likely to have been made as an obidome. Before the 1937 Japanese invasion, when they were only occupying Manchuria?

I think I'll try to take the corrosion off one side to brighten up the copper, if I can figure out a way to do that without damaging the enamel.
