Original Message:   Re: Millefiori canes/rods?
Hi Cody, there is my own experience in Africa: In my opinion they are cut when they are manufactured. When the beads are long and right, they are cut, and you can find a bead of which represents the beginning of the hole, and the other hole is cut. When you look about elbow beads, you can see that, often, it is an entire bead and no a part of a long cane. The twice holes are the beginning of the bead (look at the picture). I never didn't see African people to cut the millefiori beads to repair or to make two beads. Il think it's very hard to cut the glass without to see something strange. And all the beads show the same cut, also it's made in the manufactury. I show you different elbow beads: it was made to have one bead, the beginning and the end look the same. And the other are cut, and the cut look the same. I don't know if I explain clearly!!
