I have already found an image of one of the stranger beads I've collected - it was a tabular bead on a mixed strand. I thought it was some sort of defective attempt to make a "regular" symmetric tab. It was clearly not broken in half since the wide end was as-made, not fractured. But here is the pic from the new book along side my bead - it was made that way on purpose!
