Original Message:   Chelyabinsk, north of Kazakhstan
The Wikipedia article indicates that amazonite historically had a limited supply, the main source on the Eurasian continent being a deposit near Chelyabinsk. This is north of present day Kazakhstan, and so seem likely to have been a Silk Road resource?

Will - do you know anything about this?
