Original Message:   Rare early Chinese cloisonne beads with tiny red-crowned cranes
I thought these were interesting because

1) the wirework on them is so very fine - about the size of horsehair

2) the enamels used seem to be the enamels used on silver cloisonne such as decorated the beads for court necklaces

Little pictures of cranes, clouds, swamps, pine trees and ocean waves drawn using hair-fine wire on round balls the size of a dime...
