A great topic Will, I have also been fascinated by this region. It seems to have a rich but relatively unknown history (to my knowledge) when it comes to beads. I have heard of some Russian research on the subject, but information is hard to find. I have seen examples of mosaic glass beads that are similar to more "western" beads, yet with slight differences in color and style.
