On the upper tiers two winged recumbent animals (or Sphinxes) facing each other can be seen, resembling those on the pictured Greek seal (below), dated 350 B.C., even in style.
On the bottom tiers a goat -- an ubicuous theme.
The middle band is carved with letters, it is alfabetic* --not jeroglyphic -- thus a Minoan identity can be discarded. *I seem to clearly distinguish pi, sigma and beta. All rights reserved by Bead Collector Network and its users |
