Original Message:   Melons: Vaseline, or something Asian?

These blue-green melon style beads come from an African trader who is sometimes "mistaken" about the origin of his beads. These supposedly a late style Vaseline. Widths range 13.5-17mm, the lobeing is variable, and the holes look like a wound bead. But they seem overall to be too clean and lacking in damage to have been worn in Africa very long.
