Fred, Just got home from Lela's (our daughter for those that don't know)and saw these posts. I am 95% sure this is an agate, that said I will put it under the microscope tomorrow and see if any bubbles are there, I will also do a scratch test.

This bead may well have come from Burma I will have to quiz Hassan, it is my understanding that it came to him via Pakistan. Will keep you posted.

I hesitated using Dzi but in my recent reading it seems there are many beads that the Burnese call Dzi, I guess we don't have to have a name for every bead after all a cool bead is a cool bead no matter the name put on it.
