Original Message:   Interesting portrait cane on ancient bead?
Last year about this time, I reported on the discovery of a very interesting micro-mosaic portrait cane used as decoration on an ancient bead. Apparently there were several other bead types that were decorated with the identical cane, as pictured here.

These beads were discovered in a dig site in the area around Nobbosibirsk, Russovia. It is not clear how the beads traveled to this site, as the origin of the beads is likely the Sell-Kirk Mountains, an area known for jewelry bazaars, from antiquity right up until the present time.
