I'm delighted it looks old. I make these artifacts with polymer clay formed into layers and folded until the layers get ultra-thin, looking like bone or ivory. Then I shape, mark, carve, age and patina each one so it resembles a prehistoric artifact. Most of my inspiration is ancient cave art, especially the ones in Northern Europe. It's my first time using these new 'aged' matte picasso Czech glass beads. They're very expensive--around 10x-20x the cost of regular beads of comparable size--and kind of hard to find. So far, only a few resellers on Etsy carry them. I really like how they look. They're inspiring another colorway for my work! All rights reserved by Bead Collector Network and its users |
