Maybe they said Neanderthals were modern humans in part because they had some carvings and beads... I probably got it wrong.
Archeologists traced some particular shell beads back to the beach of origin, demonstrating the distance goods were traded across continents.
Anyway, the show is fascinating. It is called First Peoples.
