what exactly is being revived? So far I have seen no tradition of good cloisonne bead workmanship from pre-WWII China. Yes, the twisted wire work of old court necklaces is quite intricate, but pales in comparison to Russian enamels from the same time period. So what prior tradition or body of work with respect to beads got "revived" in the 1970s? Quality control isn't just a Chinese problem, of course.
