Original Message:   Explorers in Africa and the bead trade

One of my first windows into trade beads was reading about Stanleys first expedition into africa. They describe porters lugging massive coils of beads. I have seen a sample of tne types of beads transported by Stanley, but have never seen a depiction of how those beads were packaged and transported through the expedition.
