Original Message:   Tibetan Dzi beads

Hello. Anyone have reliable information on how to spot a new Dzi bead being passed off as an old one? I look for circular tool marks to fake aging and perfect drill holes as a sign of a new bead. Is there anything else? The pricing of these beads varies widely--and I'd hate to pay good money for one and never be sure if it's old/vintage, or a new "aged" bead.
