Scharrer & Koch - establish 1856 in Bayreuth (a city of ca. 80.000 in the government district "OBERFRANKEN" and world-famous for the "Bayreuther Festspiele/WAGNER")- was not a bead producer. They dealt with mirrors, beads and beaded toys and bought beads from various producers, among them Gablonz, Venice and, of course, the Fichtelmountains, some 25 km's away from their office.
